Top Ten Tuesday this week is actually not book related at all but TV. So, in honor of it being back to school time and all, I'm going to share ten of my favorite shows from my school age years. Now, I graduated in 2001, so all these have been off the air for quite some time, but they deserve a trip down memory lane.
Let's get started... in chronological order:
MacGyver (1985-1992)- Loved Macgyver! He could fight off bad guys with a paper clip, chewing gum, and a lighter. I'm pretty sure I didn't understand a lot of the episode since I was 9 when it went off the air, but I really liked it all the same. My mom tells how I used to get excited when it came on every week. I actually bought my brother season one for Christmas a few years back and we had fun watching it. It was cheesier than we remembered, but still fun.
The Wonder Years (1988-1993)- I was pretty young when this show started, and I didn't even realize it was set in the 1960s and 1970s until after it was off the air. But something about Kevin and Winnie and Arnold, I just loved.
Saved by the Bell (1989-1993)- I spent many a Saturday morning watching this. Some of the shine has faded as the actors grew up and you hear horror stories of how the cast was behind the scenes, but at the time I loved Jesse and Zach. They were definitely my favorites.
Family Matters (1989-1998)- Ah Family Matters. Cranky Carl, dorky Steve, suave Stefan. TGIF was always my favorite block of TV programing. I loved Step by Step, Full House, all of them.
SeaQuest DSV (1993-1996)- Perhaps the first sci-fi show I loved. It didn't hurt that it had Tiger Beat heart throb Jonathan Brandis in it, playing the child genius who communicated with a dolphin.
Boy Meets World (1993-2000)- Another TGIF show. This had my other childhood crush, Rider Strong. I still haven't seen Girl Meets World.
Animaniacs (1993-1998)- The only cartoon to make the list. I remember thinking this was hilarious. There was usually a Pinky and the Brain sketch in each episode, which were always my favorites- two lab rats who were bent on taking over the world. Brain was smarter than a normal lab rate and Pinky was his English accented, dopey side kick.
The X-Files (1993-2016)- Moulder and Scully. The perfect team. I had to sneak episodes of this one because my mom was convinced it was too scary/evil for me to watch. Scully rocks an amazing assortment of pant suits and Moulder has some of the widest ties I've ever seen. They were cool and funny and took turns saving each other. I really wanted to be Scully and work with Moulder when I grew up.
The Pretender (1996-2000)- A young man escapes from The Center, where he's spent his whole life. He's a genius and uses his talents to help people who have been wronged, all while running from goons The Center sends after him. What's not to love.
Roar (1997)- If you enjoyed Hercules or Xena, this show would have been right up your alley. It was only on for one year, and starred Heath Ledger, before anyone knew who Heath Ledger as the lead. Vera Farmiga played one of his sidekicks. It was at the height of Riverdance and the popularity of all things Celtic. I used to tape the episodes on VHS and watch them again and again, and was very heartbroken it wasn't picked up after it's initial season.
So do you remember any of these? Or what shows did you always watch when you were in school? Drop me a comment below and check out everyone's tv themed list.

A Few Favorites March 9- Doctor Who Edition
Another week has come and gone. It's been warming up a little. Some of the snow is melting finally. You can really tell the difference when you drive, because there's no longer a snow pack you have to drive on. But it will still be months before I can get in my flower beds.
So, what's a girl to do? Well, I scrubbed out my entire refrigerator and got rid of all those things that had expired, or starting growing fuzz, or I bought for one recipe and never used again (hello jar of peperoncini). I have other projects I want to do, but am currently lacking in the motivation department- like freshening up the paint in my laundry room, and sewing projects in progress.
But, today, on Zulily I noticed that they have a whole collection of Doctor Who tees for sale and that kind of influenced the whole post for today. I think it's no secret that I'm a Doctor Who fan, so I thought it'd be fun to do a little round up on some of my favorite Doctor Who Related things today.

1. "Dress Everyday Like You'd Run Away with the Doctor in those clothes." Surprisingly good fashion advice. I think of this on the days when I don't even get out of sweat pants until mid afternoon. But seriously, if you were running away with the Doctor what would you want to be wearing?
2. This is the tee I loved most from Zulily's collection. It's from the VanGogh episode which is one of my favorites. I also have a post with this print on it hanging in my office.
3. Cross my love of Doctor Who with my love of The X-Files? How could I not love this. It's an awesome riff on the UFO poster that Moulder had hanging in his office. This one is from Big Bad Robot's Etsy Shop.
4. Another great mash up: Dr Who and Gordon Ramsey. Two great things in a meme! Yes please. It's old, but still funny.
Anyway, for all my non Doctor loving readers, sorry, but it had to be done. I don't believe there has been any mention of the Doctor on here for months so it was time. :)
Hope you all enjoy your Sundays and I'll be back this week with some more bread, some sewing, and some herb growing ideas.

A Few Favs 11.24 Special 1990s Edition
I was born in the early 80s so, I grew up on Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers, wide leg blue jeans, and TGIF shows like "Family Matters", "Full House", "Step by Step" and "Hanging with Mr. Cooper". Lately, I've been having a bit of a craving for all things 90s.
1. Flannel shirts! I found a vintage one at the thrift store in the men's section the other day. And it's so comfy. I've been living in it, with my favorite jeans and moccasins. It's on my thrifting wish list to find a couple more. I found this listing on Etsy for a mystery flannel shirt.
2. Before I loved Doctor Who obsessively, I loved the XFiles
(affiliate link). It was one of my favorite shows. My mom wouldn't let me watch it when I was a kid, because it was too violent and it had aliens in it and murders and stuff. But, I used to sneak episodes when I could. The first Christmas after we got married my husband bought me all nine seasons (they were on special after Thanksgiving for dirt cheap). I watched them all in order and then the other day, I decided I should watch them again. So, I started rewatching them. And I love them just as much as the first time I saw them. But, I have noticed that the wardrobe is all sorts of 90s awesomeness. Scully has these really awful wide leg pant suits and Moulder has these super wide ties. But I still love all the mystery and unexplained, alien weridness to it.
3. This quilt is awesome!!! Remember cassettes? Remember making your own mix tape by taping your favorite songs off the radio? This mini quilt is from Sewing Under Rainbow. It's ran by a Polish blogger named Julianna GÄ…siorowska. She makes some awesome stuff. There's no tutorial but it does give a girl some inspiration.
4. William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet
(affiliate link) was my favorite movie in high school. This movie is what started my geeky love of Shakespeare. After watching this movie, I read the play, along with "Macbeth", "The Merchant of Venice" and some sonnets before moving on to Jane Austen. So, I guess this movie laid the groundwork for my love of Jane Austen. Plus, Leonard DiCaprio stars as Romeo and he was a Tiger Beat regular of my Junior High years. And to be honest, it isn't that horrible to watch now. It's aged fairly well.
So there you have it: a list of 90s related favorites. What are your favorite 90s things?
